CUBM gala pays tribute to local luminaries in education and community
PITTSBURGH, PA, October 02, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM) is thrilled to announce its upcoming event, “Bridge To Brighter Futures: A Fundraising Gala for Urban Education,” to be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The gala will take place at The Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Monroeville, PA, and promises to be an evening of inspiration, recognition, and support for urban education.
Anticipating an attendance of 350 community members, business leaders, academics, faith leaders, and philanthropists, the event offers a remarkable opportunity for businesses to engage with a diverse audience, promote their services, and forge meaningful connections.
Board Chairman Melissa Wharton enthusiastically stated, “Our vision is to bring together the diverse and dedicated community that supports the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM). We aim to raise both awareness and essential funds to further extend the reach of quality urban education in the Pittsburgh area.”
The gala will honor outstanding Pittsburgh professionals and education advocates Karla Threadgill-Byrd, Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis, Judge Kim Berkeley-Clark, Dr. John Stanko, and Rev. Dr. William R. Glaze. Also honored will be the 2023 CUBM Urban Hero Recipient, Rev. Patrice L. Fowler-Searcy.
The evening will be filled with memorable moments, including:

The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry, celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023, stands out for its focus on providing students with a bridge to higher education. Offering a liberal arts curriculum from a Christian perspective in an urban setting, CUBM provides evening and Saturday classes, making education accessible to all.
